We have a 60' round pen. The
arena is 85' x 175' with grass footing. A covered structure
with chairs sits beside the round pen and another in a
viewing area for the arena. This, as well as a number of
other locations, offer comfortable views of the activities
in the arena and round pen. The new screened pavilion is a
great multi-use building serving as a community eating
area, meeting room, and covered classroom.
The farm has 70 acres ... most of it is pastureland. There
is a large creek at the far end of the property (at the
base of the mountain) and a smaller creek runs in and
around the farm. We also have three ponds, two that are
stocked. You're welcome to fish; just release your catch,
please. There is a fire pit beside the bunkhouse and
kitchen area and, in cooler weather, we usually gather
around it after dinner for questions, stories, or
conversation.
Riding is permitted on the property except in the bunkhouse
area. You'll want to be careful and watch for ground hog
holes in the larger pastures. If we haven't hayed yet,
we'll have mown paths around the perimeters of the pastures
so you can still ride. Note: the roads are gravel and you
should take that into consideration when deciding whether
to have shoes or boots on your horse.
