About 90 miles NE of Asheville, NC
About 65 miles E of Knoxville, TN -- airport is TYS -- 1 1/2 hrs
About 50 miles W of Kingsport/Bristol, TN -- airport is TRI -- 50 min

The closest large towns are Greeneville and Morristown.

From the Interstate (I-81)
Please use the following directions. Many navigation systems seem to want to route folks via Highway 70.
You do NOT want to take that route as it is winding and narrow and not suitable for horse trailers.

• Take Exit #23. You will exit onto 11E and go toward Bulls Gap. Those who traveled NORTH on I-81 should turn left and go back under the interstate. Those who traveled SOUTH should continue exiting right along the ramp. ALL travelers should pass McDonald's and hotels on your LEFT.

• Travel approx 3.5 miles to the intersection of 11E and Hiway 66. At the traffic light, turn right onto Highway 66.

• Travel 6 miles to Old Highway 66. Just before Old Highway 66, you will see a sign on the right side that says "Persia, Unincorporated". Turn right onto Old Highway 66.

• Go under the concrete train trestle. (Maximum vertical clearance is 10'.) Most horse trailers clear just fine, but check the height of your trailer before you leave home. Camper vehicles may not clear; please check height. If you need an alternate route, please read below.)

• Once on Old Highway 66, travel 6/10 of a mile and turn right onto BEECH GROVE ROAD. Go 6/10 mile. Signs will be posted. Turn left into Mendin' Fences.

Alternate Route to bypass train trestle if your rig is over 10' high:
You will turn PRIOR TO the above directions but still off of Highway 66. At approximately 5 miles from Bulls Gap (intersection of 11E and Highway 66), turn RIGHT onto SPEEDWELL RD . After crossing the railroad tracks, go approximately one mile (note: you will PASS a section of Beech Grove on your right -- do NOT turn here) -- turn LEFT onto BEECH GROVE RD. -- this will be the first road you come to on your left. Go approximately ½ mile to the fork and take a LEFT, continuing on Beech Grove. Go just over ½ mile to Mendin' Fences on the RIGHT side of the road.

Once You Arrive -- Watch for road to the right that says ARENA. Horse trailers should come up onto the parking pad and park with back end toward one of the stalls/pens.

Horse trailers have first priority on the parking pad. Spectator vehicles should park opposite the trailers -- on the side with the wooden fence.
